Learning a language is most effective when it is used in real-life communication. Tallinn Winter School offers a unique opportunity to study Russian in a European academic environment while experiencing everyday communication in a multilingual city.

Estonia has long historical and cultural connections with the Russian language, and Tallinn is home to vibrant Russian-speaking communities. This makes the city an excellent place to practice Russian while enjoying the safety, openness and international atmosphere of an EU country.

Our intensive Russian language course combines structured classroom learning with practical communication skills. Participants improve their grammar, vocabulary and speaking confidence through interactive lessons, discussions and real-life language practice.

The course is taught by experienced teachers who specialise in Russian as a foreign language. All instructors are native speakers and use modern teaching methods and up-to-date learning materials. Many of them have been teaching at Tallinn Summer School for more than ten years.

Participants are placed into study groups based on their level of Russian. After submitting the registration form, students (except complete beginners) receive a link to an online placement test. Groups are formed according to the results of the test and usually include several different levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
