Cultural Programme

The essence of the cultural programme is to help participants at the Tallinn Winter School gain a valuable overview of Estonian culture based on the local heritage and to enhance the links between the different courses. We endeavour to show you the wide diversity of Estonia’s culture and to create a meeting place for you all.

Tallinn Winter School arranges different events so you can really enjoy Tallinn and Estonia. In the afternoons following the language classes, there will be few lectures delving into different aspects of Estonia’s culture. The first days will be about welcoming you to Tallinn and will include a small welcome reception and a tour of the Old Town. During the following days, students will also be given an opportunity to visit some museums in Tallinn.

Students will also have the opportunity to attend field trips at the weekends.

A highlight of the cultural programme is always the “International evening” – an event where students can get to know all the participants at the winter school and not only the members of their own course. This event is a great chance to introduce national customs and come up with a dance, song, dish or game to present your own culture at its best.

NB! Please note that there might be changes in the programme!

Some events and open lectures are available for all the participants for free, for example welcoming event, international evening and movie afternoons. Find the dates and times for these events from the Google Calendar below.
