The course will introduce you to basic Russian and will help to develop your reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills in Russian. At the end of the course, you will be able to read Russian, use everyday expressions for social interactions, write simple texts and letters.

During the classes, we will cover such topics as introducing yourself, hobbies, time and season of the year, weather, school life, visiting shops and cafes. There will be online sessions once a week with a variety of materials provided by the teacher.

At the end of the course, participants can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. The participant can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Teacher(s)

Anna Kuznetsova, MA. Being born in Russia, currently, Anna is a doctoral researcher at the University of Tartu and a certified teacher of Russian as a foreign language. She obtained her diploma from Moscow State University and has experience teaching Russian in an international environment.

Classes take place every Thursday from 8 pm to 9.30 pm.

Credit points

3 ECTS. In order to get the certificate and transcript of records, students have to participate in at least 75% of the classes and pass a test or give a presentation at the end of the course.
