Step into the world of visual storytelling with our two-week course on the basics of photography and videography!
This program is designed for beginners, focusing on practical skills in both photography and videography.
In the first week, we will cover photography fundamentals, including camera settings, composition, and lighting. Hands-on activities will allow participants to apply these concepts immediately, building confidence through guided practice.
The second week will introduce the basics of videography, from operating equipment to understanding storyboarding. Participants will engage in practical filming sessions in studios, where they can develop their skills with the support of experienced instructors.
By the end of the course, you will have a strong foundation in both photography and videography. Whether you’re new to these fields or looking to enhance your creative abilities, this program provides a structured environment to help you grow.

Teacher(s)
Sofia Kusainova is a photographer and content creator with over 5 years of experience in the field. BA in Humanities, Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, Tallinn University, 2021. Experienced in collaborating with local brands across the Baltic region. Worked as a production assistant for Warner Bros. and Allfilm in 2019 while filming the movie ‘Tenet,’ directed by Christopher Nolan.
Artur Kriuk, a cinematographer and head of video production, has over ten years of invaluable experience in shooting, editing, and color grading for various projects, including motion and documentary films, corporate videos, commercials, music videos, and educational videos. BA in Art and Culture, OmSU, 2015. Participant of Jinzhen International Short Film Festival. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Knowledgeable in social media and advertising platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
Timetable
Classes take place from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30.

Participants
This meticulously crafted course is specifically tailored for beginners, offering a structured and supportive environment for those venturing into the realm of visual storytelling. The course is limited to 10 participants.
No previous knowledge in the field is needed.
Participants are required to provide their own camera capable of capturing both photos and videos, including any model of camera or smartphone with video capabilities.
Credit points
3 ECTS.
Assessment criteria: participation in at least 75% of classes, individual projects
Course fee
650€
The fee includes studio rental, sound, light, and editing equipment, but not camera, actors, locations, costumes, decorations, transport, etc.
NB! Accommodation, cultural programme and meals are not included in the price.
